Linda
Townsend
began dancing at
age 6 with ballet, tap and figure skating lessons. She spent 13 of the first 18 years of her life studying dance, adding jazz and modern dance as she got older. She started performing early, and has performed locally and regionally with various groups. An avid social dancer most of her life, Linda has introduced many
students to the Seattle social dance world and inspired
in them a love for this healthy and delightful
recreational activity. She enthusiastically combines her
passion for dance with her profession as a teacher and
easily infuses her students with the laughter and fun of
dancing together. She has studied East and West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop,
Waltz, Foxtrot, Salsa, Tango, Nightclub Two-Step, Blues, Zydeco
and other dances with local, national and world-class
instructors. She has been teaching dance for over 9
years and has worked with many talented and creative
dance partners, including her son, Nicolas. She teaches
locally, regionally and nationally and for 6 years performed Lindy
Hop and related dances with the
Savoy Swing Club Performance
Troupe of Seattle. As a life-long learner, Linda still studies all forms of dance in private lessons, daily and weekly classes, workshops and dance camps.
